  • I don’t lie, I don’t even know which songs are from which eras or which albums. I do like Pork and Beans better than Buddy Holly as well, but I did know Buddy Holly first and a good part of my enjoyment of Pork and Beans comes from the accompanying music video as well as enjoying the contrarian attitude of the song. It’s like the genuine version of what Troublemaker did sarcastically.

  • After Pinkerton weezer had only like 5 songs that play in the same league as Blue and Pinkerton. My daughter who’s 13 tells me she ‘loves’ Weezer’s ‘new’ stuff and I tell my daughter to BURN IN HELL! After Pinkerton, there’s NOTHING that is in the same league as first two albums!

    Brent HutchinsonBrent HutchinsonMánuði síðan
    • @DJDerpyify dude, yes. I just listened (skimmed through the entire album) yeah, it’s okay but incomparable to blue and Pinkerton. I didn’t hear one sick guitar riff in the entire album. It’s bubblegum pop. At least in my opinion. And yeah, it’s not bad. Weezer is really talented. They are masters at crafting music that appeals to different generational gaps which is really difficult for bands to do. Gaining fans from different eras and keeping everyone impressed seems impossible because my daughter’s taste differs from mine unless you’re talking about a group like The Police that went triple platinum and then stopped making music -no one can say that they are a bad band because the sales prove otherwise. I don’t know about Weezer’s album sales but I know that collectively, Weezer is loved by all generations. Just not so much by me now. I will always have love for them and the way their music influenced snd shaped my personal style/taste in music. I’m just waiting until they do an album for their older fans. Like the newer song “Back to the Shack.” That song is rockin like a mofo.
