  • I've just spent hours watching your entire playlist. Would love to hear your thoughts on the sniper bullet scenes from 2008's movie Wanted. Also the scene where he jumps through the window, and the classic "bullet curving". Ands there's a brilliant scene with James McAvoy and Angelina Jolie where they run over the tops of trains doing all sorts of acrobatics. In fact, the entire movie is a CGI goldmine,. Other than the Matrix, probably one of the most underrated movies that blew my mind. The steampunk aesthetics are super cool as well. Bonus points if you get Angelina Jolie on as a guest!! :O)

  • Recently showed my partner 'Death Becomes Her' with Goldie Hawn, Meryl Streep and Bruce Willis and would love a breakdown of some of the scenes i.e. Meryl streep's broken neck sequence at the start and the possible tracking involved in Goldie Hawn's gunshot hole through the stomach moment! Theres so many things I could add about this film but these 2 things stood out the most for me. ALSO...keeping with the Halloween theme: The Addams family/ Addams Family Values FX for Thing and some of the effects they achieved in that film/ stunts for both these films aswell :)

  • *the airbubbles inside flubber aren't likely to cause rendering overhead due to refractions. They'd have inverse normals and an IOR of 1 (or just mirror chrome) as nested dielectrics weren't implemented in raytracing till a decade or so later.

Seeing that on the big, silver, screen at six years old, was mind-blowing and I still find new details every time I watch the movie.

  • I had no idea how complex these movies were. But as a 23 year old, I now understand why I loved them so much as a kid. So much work and effort was put into it, so much so that my still developing child mind recognized it all as entertaining, feasibly realistic, but also unrealistic. It’s like the people were really able to create a new form of reality with their special effects.

  • I think the very first CGI that really blew my mind was in The Time Machine (2001) where the protagonist goes unconscious in the time machine and it goes hundreds of thousands of years in the future, and the movie shows the change of the landscape over that time. I think I bought the movie on DVD just because that scene wowed me so much.

I think Phantom Menace was the first movie I can remember seeing, and I thought Obi Wan and Qui Gonn were real people that cameramen had flown into space to capture their lives. Also I’d like to see a segment on how they do scenes of people sinking into dirt like in Tremors or Scorpion King.
