  • CrossFit is for people who like playing around when they workout. It’s a joke. Go to a CrossFit gym and look around. Most people in the gym are out of shape. On another note, look at the guy that invented the sport. He looks like he has never worked out in his life. CrossFit =👎👎👎👎👎👎👎🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

    Alex BAlex B2 árum síðan
    • Yeah it should go up but it's not because of the founders worth, its the sponsorship money has increased tremendously. There are CrossFit boxes around the world now, I think that $100m is well earned. It's Rogue and Reebok that should be increasing the prize money.

      Jeff SmithJeff Smith2 mánuðum síðan
    • Alex B dude ikr! From 2012 to 2019 games, the winners prize money has only increased from 285 to 300. It’s so bad! I really hope in near future the winner prize money is 1 million dollars. They really deserve it and it would also allow more athletes to focus on only CrossFit without haveing to work other job and we could see the sport become even greater

  • God Mat seems like a dick... The "dont ask me about Rich" comment was a dick humble and answer the fucking questions you are asked. Then...after he wins, no one congratulates him till way after the fact, and seemingly only do because it is the polite thing to do. At the awards he isnt even hanging out with the other athletes...stands apart from them off to the side. None of the other athletes clap for him... Fittest Man on Earth doesnt count much when you are a dick and no one wants to be around

    • I mean, knowing how incredibly hungry and competitive Mat is, I understand his frustration. Imagine, if, say, you created a famous theorem, but instead of hearing about what you created the media just continually asks about the Citations that you used. He's had to deal with that everyday for years now. Granted I don't know him personally so he could totally be a douche, but I don't think that plays into why he made that comment.

Robin de ValkRobin de Valk3 árum síðan
    • Don't forget that Rich finished second place in the open in 2017 by only a couple points without even trying. I know Fraser did it accidentally as-well, but Rich had been training as a team member for almost 3 years leading up to that point; imagine if he started training as an individual again. Not saying it's certain he would beat Fraser if he made a comeback, but at least give him a huge run for his money. Rich would definitely (at least) podium once again.

    • Fast forward to 2018 and Tia dominated the shit out of the women's division.

      XReflectionXReflection2 árum síðan
    • Eh, still I don't think Tia's performance was that dominant and she royally screwed up in the final event. It's anyone's game in 2018.

      BelsnickelBelsnickel3 árum síðan
    • Tia started the games in 1st and finished 1st. With one more event, Kara may have taken it away from her. Did you see the look on Kara's face immediately after the last event? It was as if she just figured out that she has a real chance to run the tables next year. As for Matt, I'm not sure anyone will replicate his dominance any time soon. It would be interesting to see Brooke at the games again. So much dynamic energy. Camille has time to make the Olympics.

      Scott L. RoyalScott L. Royal3 árum síðan
    • Tia won by a hair so she didn't dominate at all. I like Tia, but she's far from being a dominant athlete and honestly none of the women have been dominant at all like Matt has which makes the women way more fun to watch. But I hope you're right. I love Sara. I also love Camille but after this injury I don't think she will be back. Her progress has been quite slow. I do hope Brooke Ence makes a comeback this year. Her recovery is going well.

      BelsnickelBelsnickel3 árum síðan
    • I'm hoping that Tia's success this year is the propellant that drives Sara's belief in self to the point where she believes she has all the necessary heart & skills to dominate like Tia just did. The community see's it. The moment Sara see's it everyone else's chances for the top of the podium, shrink drastically.

  • Heat 4 of the women's final was SUCH a nailbiter! Loved it! I'm glad Sara Sigmundsdottir ended the games on such a high note. She is still my sentimental favorite female crossfitter and I would have loved to see her on one of those podiums at the end. I bet Kara Webb will be counting squats (or lunges or whatever) in every competition going forward. If that judge had not told her to cross before completing her 75 overhead squats in the 2223 Intervals event, she may have won this whole thing. They don't know for sure if it would have taken her six seconds to do those last three squats. She seems to get pumped and increase speed. Not to take anything away from Tia-Claire Toomey (she was phenomenal also), it just sucks that that happened to Kara.
