  • Real question; why do surgeons do that?! I remember being prepped for my surgery and the doctor finally comes in and goes, “So do you want to do this procedure we discussed? Or do you want to do this newer procedure we’ve never ever talked about? It’s showing good results.” ...Well gee DOC, then maybe you should have mentioned it in the multiple appointments we’ve had in the YEAR leading up to this surgery today! No I don’t want to do a completely new procedure I know nothing about and haven’t prepared at all for!!! I’m also not feeling as confident about you cutting me open as I was literally 3 seconds ago!

It protects the patien from skin and hair particles from falling in your incision as bone infections are hard to heal and can lead to amputation or death. It also protects the surgeons and techs from splatter from saws and mallets and aerosolized blood.
