Merc....we reinvented the mirror....NO u tried to fix something that wasnt broken....or just use curved mirrors o n the inside? Rear view camera for reversin is the only camera we need

merc are the best trucks to drive.I would say they are more stable on the road than the rest. I'm on actros 2551 but the shit side is when pulling at roundabout.

Your fault dude. It's works only with Tempomat on not when you are accelerate. I have an Actros 1858 Giga Space...and I hadn't that problem. Believe or not this is the best truck in Europe.....happy Brexit

Volvo FH is a much better truck and more comfortable to be driving all day long. Standard seat in the Benz is like sitting on a plank of wood.

Daf active braking on the 2019 xf I drove was really aggressive. On the man tgx that i recently bought haven't seen it in action yet. So far volvos active braking was the best.
Proves the technology isn’t reliable enough yet for driverless vehicles. What was Mercedes excuse? Did they pay?

Why didn't you just order a foam-modelled vehicle (rear portion of a car) to simulate this? Would've been less headache and less expensive if things went sideways.

Hi Daniel I am a professional driver and some of the coaches I drive have this collision avoidance system and its a pain sometimes it works other times it doesn't sometimes it will pre warn you with a audible sound and light before applying the breaks even if your in full control and paying attention I can remember going through some roadworks and the system thought I was going to hit a car even though I was quite a distance away and applied the breaks quite hard which made me jump the trouble with these systems is there not infallible Im not a fan of these and can never really trust them.

I think that system turns on after 15 mph to allow creeping in traffic, just like the cruise control and exhaust brake etc, There is a manual override switch that could also have been pressed. Either way that was set up to fail on loose gravel as it would have just locked them on

I drive an Actros myself, the active breaking system does stop before hitting cars or anything else, if you set the cruise control. If u stomp onto the gas yourself, it deactivates the active breaking system ✌🏻😅

I am 100% sure that the truck didnt know it has to engage the corresponding breaking system since it wasnt on the road. Happened to me with the active lane assist on a 2019 Audi when the road markings were not so good and the car couldnt read the lanes.

I have always found Merc trucks to sound agricultural personally..This video I think you did as an educational video .obviously you didn't want to damage the merc .but it proves what manufacturers say.The safety systems are there .but it is still the driver who is ultimately in control.They will assist the driver.but it doesn't exonerate him of his responsibilities .and not not a get out clause when there is an accident .ie the truck never stopped itself not my fault gov (said in a glaswegian accent lol)

Braking slightly or looking at the sensors will turn off or over ride the active braking systems and I think that is what happen here

The worst review I have ever seen what are u even saying pulling on a hill with no trailer and ur saying it pulls very well??? Bruh 😂 what is this... Ofc it will bc there is no F trailer And what about storage compartment I know for a fact that there are 100 different trucks that have access from inside and outside the cab and u didn't talk about the material quality of the truck and ur saying that the suspension of the truck its a little hard... dude u have no trailer again if there are any true drivers here on this channel where on earth did u guys finde a comfortable tractor unit with no trailer??? Never bc they have been made to be a little comfortable with a TRAILER and weight and ur seat suspension BTW u didn't find that to good bc they have like 10 configuration settings there. And the last thing is that you just tested a crash safety system on a open "field" now "listen" here that system works on the highway where are the guide lines on the road or inside the city's . when the mercedes made that system they were not thinking to protect the driver on a open field with 10 miles per hour but in the highway with 55miles per hour ofc its not going to work on the environment that u just tested bc it's not meant to work like that it's not programmed to do that so idk what kind of review was this get better

I remember hearing a story about one of the first active brake systems where the guy who invented tested it infront of lots of press In a big warehouse and they did it absolutely smashed it afterwards they worked out that the floor was metal and messed up the magnetic sensors

You need to select cruise control and the correct cruise control with brake assist which has a blue car symbol other wise it will not work especially if your foot is on the accelerator.
What a surprising end to the video, Please PLease PLEASEupload the dealers faces when they collected or you delivered the truck back to them and any conversations lol
Don't trust the merc braking system I have my own eyes and reactions for that, there system brakes when a vehicle front is on a slip road coming off which is a nightmare when you don't expect it to brake it just imagine if there was ice or snow on the road and that happens .

I would avoid the Actros, I’ve worked on Mercedes & Volvo trucks for 15 years and the MP4 is not a good lorry, especially for your job. The engine itself is reliable but everything else lets it down
