A Man Among Orcas - Wildlife Documentary

3 jún 2017

Enduring raging winds and icy waters with minimal protection, he enters the intimacy of elephant seals and orcas using clever ethological analyses and gets them used to his presence. Then comes the extraordinary: meet a man who communicates with penguins with body language, calms young seals and turns them into live pillows, lies underwater with 8 ton orcas or mature male seals... -

  • Beautiful documentary. At 44:49 I like to imagine the wetness in the seal's eye being a tear of joy. Life can be hard (espcecially on an island like this) so some sincere and pure affection realy can make all the difference in one's life, even if you are a seal. I red today and was again reminded of this portion of the scriptures while watching: Romans 8:19-23 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; 21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of decay into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. 23 Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. God bless you, Jesus Christ is coming soon! Maranatha!

I’ve seen some breathtaking things as I live in Washington state and often visited the coast and Oregon coast! The Ocean is an amazing mysterious part of this world that needs to be considered in everyone’s everyday life. Waste is a way to fill this planet and the oceans and seas and bays with garbage!!

  • Just leaving the hurt baby seal to starve to death? I would have had a new pet. Feed it while there, take it back to a rescue place when he left... Hell it would have been kinder to kill it himself and eat it, than to just leave it to nature.

  • As its genus name Orcinus was coined in 1860 while the false “killer whale”’s genus name Pseudorca was coined in 1862, I think the orca’s genus name, which means orca-like, is more proper for false “killer whales” than for orcas. Also, the orca’s former genus name Orca was coined in 1846. Can you believe that?
